Recently moved to Lillooet from Abbotsford, Debra Neufeld tried rowing for the first time in Germany when she was 15 years old. She didn’t get in a boat again for almost 10 years until she start rowing as a varsity athlete at the University of the Fraser Valley. She competed for 3 years and the Canadian University Rowing Championships and started coaching novice athletes after her first year. She has now been coaching for 8 years and has a passion for sharing the sport she loves so much. Debra is a Learn to Row Certified Instructor and a RCA Community Coach Certified Instructor. She takes every opportunity possible to continue her coaching development to make sure her athletes are getting the best coaching she can give them.
Originally from Victoria, Marcus Wiltsie was first introduced to rowing in high school, and has gone on to row for the Victoria City Rowing Club as a junior and at the University of Victoria as a Lightweight with the varsity men’s rowing team. He has been a competitive athlete for 5 years and a coach for one year. Over the summer he looks forward to sharing his expertise and passion for the sport with everyone who comes on the water.
